Living away from home – perhaps for the first time – is an exciting and significant step in your life. Living independently offers both new freedoms and new responsibilities. It’s also a great way to immerse yourself into the student community and make the most of living in Shrewsbury.

University Centre Shrewsbury and The University of Chester are working in partnership with Shropshire Council to provide accommodation at Mardol House and The Tanney, our halls of residence situated in Shrewsbury town centre.

If you are offered a place at Mardol House or The Tannery, our partnership accommodation, the room is allocated by the University of Chester Residential Services but your contract will be with Shropshire Council.

Comprising of a mix of self-catered en-suite cluster flats or self-contained studio apartments, the accommodation at Shrewsbury has an option for everyone. Both halls of residence also provide laundrette facilities and CCTV monitored outdoor bike racks. All accommodation is self-catered and your rent includes all utility bills, maintenance and WiFi access. The accommodation is safe and secure with a 24-hour concierge service covering both sites – plus if you need any help, there’s also an Assistant Residential Tutor on hand to talk to.

The safe and secure halls of residence are in a prime location in Shrewsbury town centre. They are just a short walk from the lecture halls and library at Guildhall, close to all major public transport services, plus just a few steps away from Shrewsbury’s shops, restaurants and amenities.
