About the Event

The Romanian revolution which saw the capture and execution of of President Nicolae Ceausescu, took place over the course of a few days in December 1989.  Brtish playwright, Caryl Churchill, visited Romania four months after the events and conducted several interviews and collaborated with a theatre company in Bucharest.  Her play "Mad Forest" is the result of her trip.  December 2019 will be the 30th anniversary of the revolution and in this session Dr Giulia Miller will talk abou Churchill's play from within this context.
