About the Event

Over the course of eight sessions, Professor John Coutouvidis will lead a study group on the political transactions between Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin over the single most important diplomatic contest of the War: the future of Poland.

The discussions will be based on documents on Polish-Soviet relations, which will be circulated ahead of each lecture, allowing for informed discussion of how the geo-political configuration of the Soviet Union, Poland and Germany tested the Great Powers. This first session will discuss "the human cost of invasion by Germany and its Soviet ally in 1939".
