University Centre Shrewsbury leaders will be key speakers at a Shropshire business event this month.

Deputy Provost Paul Kirkbright and Professor Clare Schofield will be at the Shropshire Business Partnership breakfast and networking event on Friday May 22 to share an update on developments and discuss the potential opportunities ahead.

Shropshire Business Partnership event organiser Roy Broad said: “Shropshire is enhancing its reputation as a place to live, learn and work with the arrival of University Centre Shrewsbury, offering postgraduate courses since autumn 2014 and undergraduate courses from September 2015.

“Professor Clare Schofield and Deputy Provost Paul Kirkbright will share the opportunities for Shropshire businesses and the wider community that having a University Centre in Shrewsbury brings.

“Shropshire has an increasing need for qualified graduates to join local businesses and remain in the county as their careers take-off. The availability of further and higher education courses in the county is going to make it easier for local employers to recruit and retain excellent graduates.”

The event will take place at the Greenhous Meadow, Shrewsbury, from 7.30am to 10am.
